About (Click here for a short press bio)

I play piano, keyboards, I sing, and I write songs.

For what seems like my entire life, I led a rock band from New Jersey called Spiraling. We made several albums, and toured the United States several times (and went to Japan once). We don’t play shows much anymore, but we would still like you to hear our music.

Some of you may know me from my several stints as a session musician. Over the past decade plus, I’ve had the fun experience of playing keyboards for several artists whose music was part of my childhood’s soundtrack: Yes, Meat Loaf, and Debbie Harry to name a few. While I’m name-dropping, I’ll mention that I’ve also worked with Marshall Crenshaw, Camel, Glen Burtnik, and Francis Dunnery.

I’m basically a music geek who grew up studying classical and jazz piano, and have always loved a good pop song. I also play synths and have a new-wave streak, because part of me lives in the future. I now pull from all of these influences and infuse them in my solo work.

Aside from the touring and recording, I am also a Contributing Editor for Keyboard Magazine. I started writing lessons, artist interviews, and gear reviews for them in 2001 after they reviewed my book 30-Day Keyboard Workout. I like to talk shop sometimes. But first and foremost, I like to perform and create music, be it at a living room or an arena.
